Imagine having nowhere to live.

What would you do? Where would you go for help? How would you survive? For some young people in South Tyneside, homelessness can become a frightening reality. What would you do? It’s at times like this, when a young person is at a crisis point in their lives, that KEY is there for them. We can provide the accommodation, support and advice that is so crucrucial in times of crisis. It’s at times like this, when a young person is at a crisis point in their lives, that KEY is there for them. We can provide the accommodation and support.

The young people we help are aged 16 – 25 and come from various backgrounds. There are many reasons why they may find themselves threatened with homelessness. These include debts, domestic violence, to relationship or family breakdown.

Homelessness is not just about being out on the streets, many young people will be sofa surfing, sharing accommodation with friends and family. When young people do come to KEY, they are often extremely vulnerable and in a state of crisis.
